  • Cross Country Teams earn All-Academic Honors

    The women's and men’s team along with four individuals of the UW-Platteville Cross Country teams were acknowledged by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in the organization's 2016 NCAA Division III All-Academic Honors.
  • LaMere Named WIAC Athlete of the Year

    Ian LaMere has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Male Cross Country Athlete of the Year.
  • LaMere wins second cross country national championship in a row
    November 19, 2016
    Ian LaMere met expectations as he headed into the NCAA Division III National Championship as the heavy favorite after winning last year’s championship in record fashion. The race was run under windy conditions that saw temperature in the low 40s at E.P “Tom” Sawyer State Park.
  • LaMere Wins, Four Pioneers Earn All-Region

    The Pioneers competed at the NCAA Regional meet Saturday. The UW-Oshkosh hosted meet saw two Pioneer men and two Pioneer women in the top-35, earning All-Region status.
  • Smith leads Pioneer Men Past Eau Claire and La Crosse

    The UW-Platteville cross country teams hosted the third Gender Equity Invite on Saturday afternoon. UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire, and a group of alumni joined the hosts in the new concept race that sees men and women racing against each other.

    The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced UW-Platteville's Ian LaMere (Green Bay, Wis. /Southwest) as the Division III National Athlete of the Week.
  • LaMere breaks record, repeats as WIAC champ
    October 29, 2016
    Ian LaMere repeated as WIAC Conference Champion in record fashion Saturday afternoon. LaMere pulled away early from the field and ran a solo effort for the 8 kilometer course. He crossed the finish in 23:56, the fastest winning 8K time in WIAC History. This marks the 8th time since 2000 that the Pioneers have claimed the men’s individual title, more than the next four WIAC teams combined.
  • Career Best Times Highlight Finish at Oshkosh Open

    The UW-Platteville Cross Country teams competed at the Oshkosh Open Friday. The Pioneer men just missed the win finishing second with 29 points, 3 points behind UW-Stevens Point’s 26 points. Five total teams competed on the men’s side.
  • LaMere Makes Cross Country Season Debut

    The UW-Platteville cross country teams split their squads this weekend. The Pioneer’s top runners went to compete at the Louisville Classic on Saturday and preview the course that will host the NCAA Championships this year. A second group headed to the Blugold invite hosted by UW-Eau Claire on Friday.
  • Heiden leads Pioneers with fourth place finish

    The men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Brissman/Lundeed Invitational hosted by Augustana on Friday. Leading the women’s team was senior captain Chelsey Heiden. Heiden finished fourth out of 370 finishers crossing the 6K finish in 22:51. Katie Wardinski crossed the finish next in 40th with a time of 23:58. Hannah Ihlenfeldt (52nd) followed close behind in 24:12. Camille Felton (78th) and Caitlyn Ifft (100th) closed out the top five in 24:54 and 25:17 respectively. The lady Pioneers finished ninth out of 24 teams.
  • Pioneers look to build on past success

    This season the Cross Country Pioneers will be led by Ian LaMere, who returns after having competed for Team USA at the under-23 North American and Central American Championships in El Salvador this summer. LaMere qualified to the U-23 NACAC by having the fastest time for an American under 23 years of age in the 10,000m during the 2016 Track and Field season.
  • Pioneers open season at Tom Hoffman Invite

    The UW-Platteville Cross Country teams opened the season at the Tom Hoffman Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater. The season opener was treated partly as a training race with the Pioneer runners running in pairs. The decision by coach Antczak proved to be a good choice as race temperatures where higher than what the Pioneers had seen during training.

  • Cross Country Alumni Meet set for Sept. 10th

    The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's and women's cross country teams will be hosting their annual Alumni Open Meet on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Cole Acres Golf Course in Cuba City, WI. Please note that this our second year at this new location necessitated by damage to Memorial Park on campus from last year’s tornado.
  • UW-Platteville Athletic Hall of Fame to add six

    The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will induct six former standout student-athletes into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 9.
