Pioneers fall in overtime to Carroll University

WAUKESHA, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team lost to the Carroll University Pioneers 1-0 in overtime Sunday at Schneider Stadium in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The loss moves UW-Platteville to 4-4 on the season.

Neither team was able to get on the board in the first 90-minutes of play, as both teams scoring opportunities were limited. In regulation UW-Platteville registered only 5 shots, and Carroll was able to take 15. Both UW-Platteville goalie Alyssa Sickler and Carroll goalie Christina O'block were to save all shots taken in the first half, with Sicker making 8 saves, and O'Block saving 3.

With the game going into overtime, Carroll scored the game-winning goal at the 6:57 mark into the extra session. The goal was scored by Casey Weyhrich, off of an assist from Delaney Pruitt. The victory moves the Carroll University Pioneers to 6-2-1 on the season.   

UW-Platteville will next play at home Wednesday against the Luther College Norse at 5 p.m. The Norse are 4-2-1 on the year, and are coming off of back to back wins against Coe College and UW-Stout.
