Pioneers' down UW-Superior 3-0.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers women's soccer team played their last game at Pioneer Stadium and took a solid win over the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellow Jackets with a 3-0 shutout.

In the first half, the Pioneers (6-11, 2-6 WIAC) held the Yellow Jackets (6-12, 0-6-0 WIAC) offense with solid defense play. With 19 minutes left in the first half, Sarah Eck made a goal by playing around the goalie on an assist from Katie Viney.

With less than seven minutes left in the half, Strasser made the second goal of the game from an assist from Layne Jackson. This is Strassers ninth goal of the season, putting her two goals behind the current record holder, Ali Metcalf, for highest number of goals made in a season.

In the second half the Pioneers' offense kept playing hard with nine shots on goal. Their efforts paid off as they came into the last 15 minutes of the game with a second goal from Sarah Eck. With an assist from Melissa Dunlavey, Eck dribbled around the goalie and made a goal from within the box.

Cassie Blazt played her third game as keeper and kept up the defense's intensity by allowing zero goals and saving three shots on goal.
