MADISON, Wis. - Amber Williams was named 2017 WIAC Women's Field Performer of the Meet. Williams becomes the first woman in WIAC history to win the award three straight years.
Williams started day one of the WIAC Championships with a win in the long jump with a 19-2.5 (5.85m) leap.
On day two, Williams set a new WIAC Championship record and claimed the triple jump title with a 40-5.5 (12.33m) bound.
The award was given for Williams' performance in the field events but she also excelled on the track. Williams won the 60m Hurdles in a school record time of 8.96 and anchored the 4x400 meter relay to a 6th place finish.
Williams will be defending her triple jump national title at the NCAA Championships hosted by North Central College on March 10-11.
