MADISON, Wis. – After what was arguably the best season for the UW-Platteville softball program in the past decade, five Pioneers were recognized by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) for their individual efforts.
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – On a perfect afternoon for softball at Neumann Family Field, Pioneer freshmen Ashton Hoeppner put herself in the UW-Platteville record book by becoming the eighth pitcher in program history to throw a no-hitter and the first since Maggie Mediicott in 2008.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Platteville softball team combined for 16 hits and limited a tough UW-Whitewater offense to five runs total in two games Tuesday night at the UW-Platteville Softball Complex, but the Pioneers couldn’t recover from two late inning surges by the Warhawks.
LOVESPARK, Ill. – In two games that were originally supposed to be played in Beloit on Tuesday, the Pioneers combined to score 21 times inside Mercyhealth Sportscore for 11-0 and 10-3 wins over Beloit College (3-19).
The UW-Platteville softball team has become accustomed to tightly contested games this season with 10 of 14 games being decided by one or two runs, and their final four games in March were no different.
