Pioneers drop double header to ranked Eagles

PLATTEVILLE, WI—The University of Wisconsin-Platteville softball team continued Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with two losses against University of Wisconsin- La Crosse on Sunday. The Eagles won the opener 17-4, and the nightcap 10-0.

Jessy Tanel scored in the first, Hailey Truman and LaRissa O'Kimosh in the second, and O'Kimosh in the fourth innings of the opener for the Pioneers The Eagles scored once in the first, eight runs in the second, and four runs in the third and fourth innings.

Game two was another match ending in a five-inning game. The Eagles scored twice in first, once in the third, three runs in the fourth, and four runs in the fifth innings. UW-La Crosse improved to 18-8 overall and 2-2 in the WIAC.

The Pioneers, now 6-14 overall and 1-3 in the WIAC, will travel to play against Concordia University Wisconsin Tuesday at 3 p.m..
