FULTON, Mo—The University of Wisconsin-Platteville softball team continued its season with two losses at Westminster University in Fulton, Missouri Sunday. The Blue Jays won the opener 12-3 and the nightcap 7-6.
Daielle Dieckhoff, LaRissa O'Kimosh, and Madison Melms scored Platteville's three runs in the fourth inning. The Blue Jays scored three runs in the first inning, seven runs in the third, and two runs in the fourth innings.
Game two was a closer match in a seven-inning game. The Pioneers put up four runs in the first inning while the Blue Jays got one run. The Blue Jays scored twice in second and third inning, sixth, and seventh innings. Rachel Bonnell had two hits, and Emily Woodford hit the Pioneers' first home run of the young season.
Coach Andie Varsho takes her Pioneers on the field again on Saturday, March 11 in Tucson, Arizona for the Tucson Invitational.
