Pioneers ready for trip to Spain

The UW-Platteville men's soccer team is taking their second trip to Europe in four years. In 2015 they spent a week touring and playing in Italy.
The UW-Platteville men's soccer team is taking their second trip to Europe in four years. In 2015 they spent a week touring and playing in Italy.

As many of their classmates prepare to head south for Spring Break, the UW-Platteville men's soccer team is getting themselves ready for a trip to Spain during their week off. The Pioneers will experience the trip of a lifetime by spending eight days in Madrid and Barcelona, with side trips to the medievel cities of Toledo, Girona, Sitges, and Figueres.

In Madrid they will enjoy city sightseeing and historic museums such as the Reina Sofia and the Prado, and go on a guided tour of the Santiago Benabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid Football Club.In Barcelona the team will enjoy popular sites such as Las Ramblas, La Sagrada Familia and the Gothic Quarter, and the Salvador Dalí Museum. They'll also tour the home stadium of the Barcelona Football Club, Camp Nou.

In addition the Pioneers will play three matches against local competition and attend a professional game in Barcelona.
