UW-Platteville defeats UW-Oshkosh 5-2.

Chmiel and Ciszweski both score a pair of goals to lead the Pioneers to victory over UW-Oshkosh.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneer men's soccer team (13-2-1, 2-0 WIAC) traveled to Oshkosh, Wisc., and defeated WIAC rival UW-Oshkosh (6-4-3, 1-1 WIAC) 5-2.
This game came just two days after the Pioneers double overtime victory against Luther College. The quick turnaround did not seem to hurt the Pioneers, as they scored within the first ten minutes of the game.
Senior Mark Ciszewski found a ball played by teammate Caleb Sedlacek from seven yards out and Ciszewski scored his eighth goal of the season. Later in the first half, senior Mark Feltner added his third goal of the season when he scored off of a free kick taken by senior Chris Brown. The Pioneers took their 2-0 advantage into halftime.
Just 11 seconds after the second half kickoff, Ciszewski scored for the second time in the game when he converted an Austin Klemm pass into a goal. Trailing 3-0, UW-Oshkosh scored twice to cut the Pioneer lead to 3-2. Senior Brandon Chmiel scored his tenth goal of the year on a free kick from 30 yards out to push the lead back to two goals, and to slow the Titans momentum.
With less than five minutes left in the game, Chmiel put the game away, scoring on a penalty kick. The Pioneers' 5-2 win helped them improve to 11-1-1 in last 13 games. The Pioneers return home for two games this weekend, facing UW-Superior on October 27th and on Sundayfacing Finlandia. The Pioneers' will honor their seniors on Sunday's game against Finlandia.
