Pioneers' ranked nationally and Jake Coxey earns Player of the Week in the WIAC.

UW-Platteville Men's Soccer team and Jake Coxey earn recognition.

The latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll has been released and the University of Wisconsin – Platteville Men's Soccer team have found their way into the Top 25. The Pioneers' are currently ranked #21 in the nation after not being ranked in previous weeks.  The Pioneers' carry a 13-2-1 record after defeating UW-Oshkosh 5-2 last Saturday.  UW-Platteville will play both days this weekend facing UW-Superior on Saturday and Finlandia University on Sunday, which will be their senior day, to close out their regular season play.

Also receiving recognition this week was Pioneer junior Jake Coxey earning WIAC Defensive Player of the Week.  The Waukesha native has played outstanding defense this entire season but his efforts were great in games played against Luther College and UW-Oshkosh.  He is part of a strong defense that shut out a strong Luther attack limiting them to four shots on goal and played a valuable role in a 5-2 win against the Titans.
