KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville head men's soccer coach, Enzo Fuschino, was selected as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III North Region Coach of the Year on Tuesday, by the NSCAA office.
Fuschino and the Pioneers finished one of the best season in program history by earning their second trip to the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament and first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title in school history last month. UW-Platteville defeated No. 22 Gustavus Adolphus and Carroll University in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament before falling to No. 4 Loras in the third-round.
"This is a great honor and well deserved recognition," said Athletic Director Mark Molesworth. "Enzo continues to take our program to places it has never been and we are very proud of him and his team."
The Pioneers posted a program-best 15 wins and a 7-1 (.875) home record as well as finished tied for 15th in the final NSCAA top-25 poll.
As a regional winner, Fuschino is now eligible for selection as a national coach of the year.
