Mbodje Sarr and Michael Prudisch Earn Weekly Recognition from WIAC
University of Wisconsin-Platteville freshman Mbodje Sarr and
junior Michael Prudisch were named the WIAC Offensive and Defensive
Players of the Week, respectively.
Sarr, a freshman from Madison East High School, had a goal in each
of the nationally-ranked Pioneers wins during the week. He had a
goal and an assist in the 8-0 rout of Coe College (Iowa) on Sept.
27, and followed that up with a goal in the 4-0 win over St.
Norbert College. He also registered six shots in the two
games.
Prudisch, a junior from Verona High School, anchored a defense to
back-to-back shutouts in wins over Coe College (Iowa) and St.
Norbert College. In the two wins, the Pioneers held the
opponents to just four shots, none of which were on goal.
Prudisch also scored a goal in the 4-0 triumph over St.
Norbert.
Both Sarr and Prudisch are a key reason that the Pioneers' men's
soccer team has moved up to No. 19 in the latest National Soccer
Coaches Association of America poll. The Pioneers are back in
action on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. when they travel to face
UW-Whitewater.
