Brandon Chmiel Named WIAC Offensive Player of the Week

University of Wisconsin-Platteville senior midfielder Brandon Chmiel was named the WIAC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday for his efforts in the Pioneers' 2-1 win over No. 4 Loras and a 2-1 overtime win at Carroll University, last week.

Chmiel had both of the goals in the Pioneers' 2-1 upset win over No. 4-ranked Loras College (Iowa). It was his second multi-goal game of the season and second game-winning goal as well. In the 2-1 overtime win over Carroll University (Wis.), Chmiel had two shots, including a shot that hit the post in the early minutes of the contest.

Chmiel and the Pioneers moved into the top 25 nationally, on Tuesday, by both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and D3Soccer.com. The Pioneers are also ranked No. 4 in the NSCAA North Region, following last week's performance.

UW-Platteville is back in action at home on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. when they host Coe College in a non-conference game.
