Mark Ciszewski of UW-Platteville Named WIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
University of Wisconsin-Platteville senior Mark Ciszewski of the
men's soccer team on Tuesday was named the WIAC Offensive Player
of the Week. The Germantown, Wisconsin native led the Pioneers to a
2-1 record, where he scored three goals and had an assist in the
Pioneers' three matches during the week. He had the
match-winning goal in the 2-1 win over Grinnell College (Iowa) to
end the weekend. Ciszewski also scored twice in the 6-0 rout
of Cornell College (Iowa) and had an assist earlier in the week in
the 2-1 loss to University of Dubuque (Iowa).
Last
night, Ciszewski had three shots including two on goal in
the Pioneers' 4-0 win over Lakeland College. Also announced on
Tuesday was that the Pioneers were ranked
No. 8 in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's
North Regional Rankings. It is the first time since the 2008
campaign that the Pioneers are ranked.
Next, UW-Platteville will travel to the state of Minnesota for its
next two contests. First, they will Macalaster on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Augsburg
on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 12:30 p.m.
