The 2017-18 University of Wisconsin-Platteville Men's basketball schedule is loaded with eight games against NCAA III tournament participants from a year ago.
Six of those contests come from Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams, as UW-River Falls, UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh all made the tournament field. The Pioneers close the season with their second matchups against the Warhawks (Feb. 14) and Falcons (Feb 17) on Bo Ryan Court in Williams Fieldhouse.
A playoff qualifier comes to Bo Ryan Court on the very first weekend, as Claremont-Mudd-Scripps faces the Pioneers on Saturday, Nov. 18. The Pioneers open the new season the previous night against Waldorf in the Gabe Miller Tipoff Classic.
Hope is the other tournament team to travel to Platteville, as the Flying Dutch and Pioneers square off on Dec. 8.
Other tournament action includes facing Carleton and Millikin at the Rocky Mountain Thanksgiving Classic in Colorado Springs on Nov. 24-25 and playing Ripon and St. Mary's in the Just A Game Fieldhouse Classic Dec. 29-30.
Coach Jeff Gard's crew also has home non-conference games against Simpson (Nov. 21), Illinois Tech (Nov. 29) and Silver Lake (Dec. 2) as well as a road game at Coe (Dec. 16).
The 14-game WIAC schedule begins Jan. 4 at UW-Stout in Menomonie.
