Football Unveils 2013 Schedule

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team unveiled its 2013 schedule on Monday. The 2013 slate includes four home games at Pioneer Stadium and is highlighted with a contest against Lewis & Clark in Portland Ore.

"Our team is extremely anxious to play again and is working to prepare for the 2013 schedule," said head coach Mike Emendorfer. "We are looking forward to the challenges presented with the 2013 schedule."

UW-Platteville opens the season at Pioneers Stadium versus Buena Vista on Sept. 7. The Pioneers are 5-0 since starting their series with Buena Vista in 2008 and have outscored the Beavers 161-42.

The Pioneers then travel across the Mississippi River to play against cross-state rivals Dubuque on Sept. 14. UW-Platteville wraps up its non-conference slate with a trip to Portland Ore. versus Lewis & Clark on Sept. 21. UW-Platteville's match up versus the Lewis & Clark Pioneers will be the teams first meeting. L&C are coming off a tough year with a 4-5 record and lost its final five games of the season.

"We have put together a competitive non-conference schedule, with two Iowa conference schools and having the opportunity to travel to Portland to play a very tough Lewis & Clark team will be great experience for our players," said Emendorfer.

After a bye week, UW-Platteville opens WIAC play versus UW-Eau Claire on Oct. 5 for homecoming. The Pioneers go back on the road for two straight weeks against UW-River Falls on Oct. 12 and UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 19.

The Pioneers return home on Oct. 26 against UW-Stout before traveling to archrivals UW-Whitewater on Nov. 2.

UW-Platteville's final home game is against UW-La Crosse on Nov. 7 and will end the regular season at UW-Oshkosh on Nov. 16.
