Football Defensive Athlete of the Week – Nick Killanek, Jr. (Villa Park, IL/Willowbrook) Defensive Line – Killanek was an instrumental part in controlling the line of scrimmage in the Pioneers’ 26-7 victory over St. Francis on Sept. 10th.  The junior nose tackle totaled one sack, two tackles for a loss, and one pass breakup in the win.

Football Offensive Athlete of the Week – Dan Arnold, Sr. (Fargo, ND/Shanley) Wide Receiver – Arnold hauled in five grabs for 66 yards and two touchdowns as the 10th-ranked Pioneers topped St. Francis 26-7 on Sept. 10th.  

Football Special Team Athlete of the Week – Dillon Villhauer, Sr. (Oxford, IA/Clear Creek Amana) Punt Returner – Villhauer returned a punt 76 yards to set up the first score of the game for the Pioneers in their 2116-7 victory over St. Francis on Sept. 10th.  The senior had a total of six punt returns for an average of 19.7, and played a key role in the Pioneers good field position for the entirety of the game.   

Women’s Golf – Larissa Schmock, So. (Trego, WI/Spooner) – In her first college tournament, Schmock shot a 90, which was a low for the Pioneers at the Viterbo Invitational.  The sophomore’s score was good enough to give her a 10th-place (tied) finish, and helped the Pioneers finish fourth overall in their first tournament of the fall.

Men’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week – Mason Spang, So. (Peewaukee, WI/Kettle Moraine) Defender – Spang was a dominant force at the defensive center mid and right back positions in three games for the Pioneers last week.  The sophomore’s defensive efforts helped lead the Pioneers to a 2-1 record for the week and improved to 4-1 on the year.

Men’s Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week – Will Pretto, Sr. (Madison, WI/Madison West) Defender – Pretto was tremendous on both sides of the ball this week as the Pioneers improved to 4-1 on the season.  The senior scored three goals in three games and was vital in the double overtime comeback win over North Central on Sept. 5th.

Women’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week – Marhiah Kennedy, Fr. (Bettendorf, IA/HS) Goalie –Kenney tallied nine saves to earn the first shutout over her career against Simpson on Sept. 5th, in the Pioneers 2-0 victory.  The freshman’s performance gives her a .839 save percentage on the season. The win gives the Pioneers their best start since 2013, moving them to 3-1 overall.  

Women’s Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week – Yamilex Jaramillo, Jr. (Houston, TX/MacArthur) Forward – Jaramillo scored two goals in the Pioneers’ 2-0 shutout over Simpson College on Sept. 5th.  The junior now has four goals on the season, and the win moved the Pioneers to 3-1 overall, their best start since 2013.
