Men's Field - Noah Steiner, Sophomore (Monticello, Iowa) - Steiner won the high jump at the UW-Platteville Invitational on Feb. 10 with a height of 2.07 m (6' 9.5"). His jump was a two and a half inch personal best, and places him at the top of the WIAC and ninth in the nation.

Women's Track - Johanna Meister, Junior (Darlington, Wis.) - Meister was the first collegiate athlete to cross the finish line in the women's mile at the UW-Invitational on Feb. 10. Her time of 5:11.38 was a six second personal record and is the fifth best performance for UW-Platteville ever.

Men's Track - Walker Rynes, Senior (Norwalk, Wis./Brookwood) - Rynes placed 2nd in the 5k on Feb. 9 at The Showcase hosted by St. Thomas. His time of 14:31:59 ranks him second in the WIAC and ninth in the NCAA.
 

Wrestling - Grant Wedepohl, Junior (Reedsville, Wis.), 184 pounds -  Wedepohl defeated top-seeded and #3 nationally ranked Sean O'Neil from UW-La Crosse to win the WIAC Championship at 184 pounds on Feb. 9. Wedepohl tied the match at 3-3 late in the third period, and earned an escape in overtime to give him the win.
 

 

Men's Basketball - Quentin Shields, Freshman (Chicago, Ill./Brooks College Prep Academy), Guard -Shields shot 64.7 percent from the field this week including 50 percent from three, and was also 10 for 11 from the free throw line. Against #18 UW-Stevens Point on Feb. 7 Shields had a career high 21 points, 17 of which came in the second half, in the Pioneers 56-47 win. He shot 70 percent on the night and came up a rebound short of a double-double. In UW-Platteville's 87-50 win over UW-Eau Claire on Feb. 10 Shields had 14 points and 7 rebounds, shot an efficient 4 for 7, and made all four of his free throws.
